Cloud streams vertically off the dramatic north facing Buttresses of the Monte Civetta massif viewed from the Taibon Agordino valley in the Italian Dolomites. I spotted this distant scene across the valley and hoped the conditions would last long enough for me to set up my tripod and attach a long telephoto lens. In my mind it looks as if ghostly figures are rising from each of the prominent buttresses, creating a hauntingly atmospheric scene full of mystery, movement and an almost otherworldly sense of presence.
