On the promise of a clearance from the weatherman, a long walk through driving rain and squally winds into the isolated heart of the Carneddau mountains, eventually yielded this atmospheric image of rock formations on the summit of Bera Bach. Being up on the summit well before sunset allowed me to take time in seeking out an ideal composition. I then sat and waited for the final rays of raking sunlight to illuminate both the dynamic foreground rocks and distant triangular peak of Yr Elen in the wonderful glow of a Snowdonia sunset.
