The distinctive profile of Ben Loyal rises dramatically from the landscape of Northern Scotland over the reed covered waters of Lochan Hakel. I was in position well before sunrise to capture the first rays of light as they illuminated the threatening sky above. Using a long shutter speed of 15 secs allowed me to retain some motion in the reeds and smoothed out the ripples on Lochan Hakel for an atmospheric ethereal effect.
