BOULDER BEAUTIFUL
'Tarn Hows' is one of the most visited places in the Lake District.
It is important to capture a truly original image when portraying the beauty of such a busy location, and here a granite boulder has been pressed into service to anchor the foreground.
However, It is not the boulder that creates the atmosphere in this image, but the subtle single shaft of morning light that illuminates part of its textured surface.
I had waited patiently for over an hour watching this narrow ray of light as it slowly arced its way towards the boulder through a gap in the treeline.
