"The world is a big place" - How many times have you heard this statement?
Whilst perhaps a lifetime ago this was true, the explosion in air travel over the last two decades has enabled even those on a modest budget to journey to the otherside of the world.
The images here portray a tiny aspect of other cultures and environments.
We hope this short journey will provide the armchair traveller with a small insight into the amazing place that is "Planet Earth".

THE GRANDEST OF MOSQUES
Bahrain in the Persian Gulf, encompasses an area of approximately 270 square miles. This mainly Islamic state is home to one of the world's greatest Mosques.
The Grand Mosque or "Al-Fateh Islamic Centre" as it is also known, stands alone on the sands, just outside the city limits.
Its huge structure boasts twin minarets and the world's largest fibreglass dome known as "The Great Dome".
This almost monochromatic image, shows the mosque towering above the local fishing boats in a neighbouring estuary.
