THE LONGEST DROP
There are waterfalls.... and there are WATERFALLS! - Pistyll Rhaeadr is arguably the most stunning waterfall in the British Isles.
Situated 5 miles up a single track road from the Welsh village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, this breathtaking example of nature is easily accessible.
A drop of 240 feet makes Pistyll Rhaeadr the tallest waterfall in Wales and second tallest in the UK.
Autumn is a terrific time to visit this location, where the heavily wooded valley bursts into a vibrant collection of autumnal hues.
The image shows the falls in full spate after torrential autumnal rain.
The use of a wide-angle lens and two strategically placed walkers to add scale, enables the full majesty of the falls to be appreciated.
