This section of the GALLERY is devoted to that so easily overused term "Atmospheric Images"
And indeed it is no accident, that the images portrayed in this collection were all taken at the beginning or end of the day or "The Golden Hour" as it is known to most photographers.
For it is both the first and the final hour of daylight that produces the most attractive light and the finest of conditions to fully appreciate all that nature has created.

THE GATHERING STORM
Photography should be practiced in all manner of weather, indeed it is often the most inclement conditions that offer an opportunity for spectacular images.
Here the waning light illuminates the base of a huge rain cloud, but is incapable of penetrating the dark core above.
Conditions like these do not last long. For the photographer it is a case of watching and waiting.
