Atmospheric
This section of the GALLERY is devoted to that so easily overused term "Atmospheric Images"
And indeed it is no accident, that the images portrayed in this collection were all taken at the beginning or end of the day or "The Golden Hour" as it is known to most photographers.
For it is both the first and the final hour of daylight that produces the most attractive light and the finest of conditions to fully appreciate all that nature has created.

LADYBOWER SUNRISE
The first golden rays of early morning light iridescently paint the sky above Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District National Park.
Here, mist still lingers on the surface of the reservoir in the middle distance, and the escarpment of Banford Edge dominates the distant horizon.
Again, a heavily graduated ND filter has been used to overcome the extreme contrast and to retain detail in the sky.
To be on location during such events remains an indispensable privilege, and I consider myself fortunate indeed to be party to such events.
