National Parks
The National Parks of Great Britain contain some of the most outstanding features of our countryside. The highest mountain, deepest lake, sweeping hillsides and rugged coastlines... they are quite simply the UK's "breathing spaces."
Most of the UK population live within 2 hours drive of at least one National Park and they are a mecca for walkers, mountain bikers and of course... landscape photographers!
The images in this section of the Gallery concentrate mainly upon those National Parks in the north of England and Wales... namely:

FORGOTTEN CIRCLES OF INDUSTRY
I love this location. Is this perhaps why it features twice in the short confines of this section?
This image and the conditions used to create it are so very different from that of MILLSTONE SUNRISE that I feel it deserves its place here in the National Parks gallery.
A wide-angle lens has been used to good effect here, seemingly increasing the size of the nearest millstone to fill the foreground.
The generally overcast conditions have acted like a giant 'softbox' allowing every textured detail of the stone to be recorded.
In the distance the landscape stretches away towards the twin tors of 'Mothercap' and 'Over Owler Tor.'
