National Parks
The National Parks of Great Britain contain some of the most outstanding features of our countryside. The highest mountain, deepest lake, sweeping hillsides and rugged coastlines... they are quite simply the UK's "breathing spaces."
Most of the UK population live within 2 hours drive of at least one National Park and they are a mecca for walkers, mountain bikers and of course... landscape photographers!
The images in this section of the Gallery concentrate mainly upon those National Parks in the north of England and Wales... namely:

REFLECTION PERFECTION
This image displays the clarity of light that can be found after air impurities have been removed by the passage of a cold weather front.
No 'Rule of Thirds' here. The perfect reflection of Mellbreak Fell in the still waters of Crummock Water demands that the image is divided exacly in two.
The line of a conveniently situated fence and drystone wall have been utilised to provide a clear demarkation line between hillside and reflection whilst the oblique side-lighting has brought out texture in the wall.
A polariser was used here, to both saturate the glorious seasonal colours and allow stones upon the lake bed to be subtly displayed.
I feel that this is one instance where a clear blue sky has enhanced the image, creating no distracting elements in the calm waters of Crummock Water.
