National Parks
The National Parks of Great Britain contain some of the most outstanding features of our countryside. The highest mountain, deepest lake, sweeping hillsides and rugged coastlines... they are quite simply the UK's "breathing spaces."
Most of the UK population live within 2 hours drive of at least one National Park and they are a mecca for walkers, mountain bikers and of course... landscape photographers!
The images in this section of the Gallery concentrate mainly upon those National Parks in the north of England and Wales... namely:

THE GOLDEN HOUR
This tranquil early morning scene was taken 30 minutes after sunrise on a glorious Lake District autumnal morning.
The rising sun has been excluded from the right hand side of the image to keep the contrast under control, but this has only just been achieved by the use of several 'stacked' ND Graduated filters.
The winning combination of early morning light, still water and golden autumn leaves, have created an unmistakeable atmosphere of peace and serenity.
The 'contre-jour ' backlighting of the leaves is perhaps the most important aspect of the image, allowing this beautiful tree to stand out and be recorded in its full glory.
